Rep. Melissa Hart Speaks at Grove City
November 30, 2005

Congresswoman Melissa Hart, the U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania's fourth district and a leading conservative in the House, addressed a capacity gathering in the Rare Book Room on the evening of November 30 in an event sponsored by the Grove City College Republicans.

Rep. Hart candidly discussed issues ranging from redistricting to government spending, her political philosophy, taxation and globalization, and shared her analysis of the 2006 election cycle in her speech and the question and answer section that followed.  A Collegian write-up of the event can be found on page five of the December 9th issue [pdf].

A three-term Republican representing parts of Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, Westmoreland and Mercer Counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania, Congresswoman Hart is a member of the Ways and Means Committee and is noted in conservative circles for having written and sponsored the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, commonly known as "Laci and Connor's Bill."
